We are seeking a highly motivated Director, Property Taxation to join our Canadian Asset Management team in Toronto. This role involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive property tax strategy across multiple sectors, working closely with asset managers and finance teams to identify savings and manage risks related to property taxes. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in property valuations, assessments, and appeals across various asset types and familiarity with municipal processes in Canada.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Developing and maintaining a property tax strategy with potential savings opportunities.
2. Collaborating with teams to identify and mitigate tax-related risks.
3. Managing external consultants for complex appeals and legal matters.
4. Providing tax forecasts, scenario analyses, and strategic insights for leasing and development projects.
5. Reporting on tax positions, appeals, and savings to senior leadership.
6. Serving as the internal expert on property tax queries and assessments.
7. Monitoring industry best practices and building relationships with industry peers.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or Engineering.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in property tax assessments and strategies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of ARGUS Enterprise is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
