Facilitates decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions and processes for the bank. Maintains and promotes a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations. This role will make credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.

  1. Establishes cross-selling initiatives to increase penetration with client.
  2. Applies deep expertise in bank products, processes and systems and effectively troubleshoots to ensure a high-quality client experience.
  3. Coordinates closing with the closing department, clients, and attorneys.
  4. Serves as a daily escalation resource to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  5. Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.
  6. Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
  7. Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  8. Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  9. Helps determine business priorities and the best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  10. Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  11. Participates in developing financial models and analytical tools to assist clients in evaluating capital structure.
  12. Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  13. Maintains current knowledge on financing trends in target clients' markets and communicates insights to team members.
  14. Leads or participates in defining communication plans to positively influence or change behavior; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
  15. Oversees preparation of concise, well-reasoned credit correspondence.
  16. Coordinates the preparation of lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients to maximize penetration and returns.
  17. Negotiates transactions with clients and provides deal structuring expertise.
  18. Oversees documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance.
  19. May manage workflow of other analysts by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives.
  20. Provides accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  21. Partners with internal stakeholders for detailed, accurate client information.
  22. Develops credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
  23. Assists in negotiations of terms and conditions via phone and email interactions with clients.
  24. Prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning creditworthiness.
  25. Minimizes risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures.
  26. Provides input into operational program planning and implementation.
  27. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  28. Focuses primarily on business/group within BMO but may have broader enterprise-wide focus.
  29. Provides specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.
  30. Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  31. Works independently, handling non-routine situations regularly.
  32. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary: $68,000.00 - $126,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on hours worked. For commission roles, the listed salary represents the target for the first year.
