Job summary

Jarvis Consulting Group in Toronto hybrid is seeking a Director of People to lead the HR function end-to-end. You will design programs, policies and processes to advance the business and coach leaders through change.

This role requires deep knowledge of employment law, pay equity, and workforce planning, with responsibility for payroll and contracts across staff and consultants. The ideal candidate has 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience including 3–4+ years in leadership, and bilingual

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3–4+ years in leadership.
• Deep knowledge of HR best practice, employment law and organizational development.
• Prior experience working for a consulting firm (or similar industries).
• A track record as an HR business partner who coaches senior leaders.
• The ability to drive change through complex organizational dynamics.
• Experience negotiating contracts and compensation.
• HRIS and ATS experience (HiBob).
• A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or a related field.
• CHRP or CHRL.
• Bilingual in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Build and launch HR programs, policies and processes that move the business forward.
• Lead internal workforce planning and headcount planning, including interview design, comp recommendations and approvals.
• Streamline and automate the employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, and comp and org changes.
• Be the trusted advisor to managers and employees on policy, conflict and tough calls.
• Own all HR escalations, terminations and disciplinary matters.
• Keep us compliant with labour law in every location we operate.
• Maintain our pay bands and pay equity, and level new roles with our job evaluation tool.
• Own payroll across multiple streams in partnership with Finance.
• Manage contracts for internal staff and consultants.
• Grow an inclusive culture that lives our mission and drives engagement and retention.
• Lead DEI strategy and programs.
• Drive internal and external community engagement.
