Job summary

SE Health in Markham, ON seeks a Director of Payroll Operations and Transformation to lead strategic payroll direction and modernization across a complex, multi-jurisdictional organization. The role oversees end-to-end payroll operations and drives enterprise-wide initiatives for efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.

This 6-month contract with possibility of extension emphasizes transformational leadership at the intersection of operations, technology, and people.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in payroll operations, payroll transformation, or related functions.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale payroll modernization, systems implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience overseeing complex, multi-jurisdictional payroll environments.
• Strong background in compliance, controls, governance, audits, and risk management.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to Markham Home Office: 90 Allstate Parkway on a regular basis

Responsibilities

• Lead Payroll Operations Excellence across multiple business lines and jurisdictions.
• Drive payroll transformation and modernization, including automation and governance.
• Lead and develop high-performing payroll teams and establish accountability.
• Serve as Finance Product Owner within enterprise transformation initiatives, ensuring requirements and reporting needs are met.
