Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Director in the Energy, Infrastructure & Transition (EIT) team based in Calgary. You will lead client advisory, M&A, and strategic financing engagements across upstream, midstream energy, renewables, and infrastructure sectors.

You will collaborate with global colleagues to deliver market-informed advice, manage deal execution, and mentor junior team members in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes leadership and client solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in investment banking, M&A, corporate finance, or energy infra sectors.
• Experience in financial modeling and analysis is required; knowledge of Canadian energy or infrastructure is an asset.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Bloomberg/FactSet/Argus Enterprise is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Client advisory and origination - support proposals and capital-raising mandates with cross-functional teams.
• Financial analysis and modelling - develop and audit sophisticated models and valuation analyses.
• Transaction execution - assist due diligence, deal coordination, and marketing materials.
• Industry insight - research energy, infrastructure, and transition sectors for strategic guidance.
• Team leadership - mentor juniors and foster a collaborative environment.
• Relationship management - build client and partner relationships and contribute market insights.
