What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Policy, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and communicating enterprise-wide policies to align with RBC’s risk profile. You will focus on credit risk policies, providing guidance and advocating for strong policy governance and effectiveness.

What will you do?

  1. Identify and prioritize credit risk policy needs, develop policy documents, and ensure alignment with regulatory and internal frameworks.
  2. Collaborate with teams across RBC to develop understandable and implementable policies.
  3. Build relationships with stakeholders to facilitate policy adoption.
  4. Present policy documents for approval with senior management and risk committees.
  5. Monitor and report on policy adherence and effectiveness.
  6. Stay informed on market, regulatory, and business developments, updating policies as needed.
  7. Advise on policy alignment with business strategies and standards.
  8. Benchmark policies against industry best practices and recommend improvements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Haves:

  • 10+ years in financial services, especially in credit, market, or corporate banking.
  • Strong understanding of regulations like CAR, BASEL, IFRS9.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with organizational skills and strategic thinking.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Degree (MBA, LLB) or professional designations (CFA, CPA).
  • Project management experience or certification.
