Job summary

St. Joseph’s Hospice in Ontario is seeking a Director, Community Engagement & Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising program and development strategy.

The role oversees major gifts, annual giving, events, and communications, while guiding a team of four professionals toward revenue and donor-relations objectives. The position reports to the Executive Director, offering a hybrid work arrangement, and focuses on building strong community partnerships, donor stewardship, and program

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive fundraising experience at the Major Gift level.
• Experience leading a fundraising team of professionals for at least 3 years.
• Graduation from an accredited university; evidence of donor relations success.

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising strategy and major gifts program with a revenue goal of $1.6 million.
• Oversee development infrastructure, donor records, research, and reporting to the Board.
• Manage events, volunteer relations, and communications to promote the hospice mission.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to align fundraising with strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, staff and the Board.
