Job summary

Rygiel Supports for Community Living is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-directed support to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in inclusive living homes. You will work under supervision, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to help individuals grow, develop life skills, and participate meaningfully in their community.

Responsibilities include daily living support, safety, documentation, and implementing Behaviour Support Plans under guidance

Qualifications

Diploma in Social Service Work (SSW) or equivalent.
Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
Strong listening, written and verbal communication required.
Flexibility to work a rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and overnights.
Standard First Aid & CPR Level C; Vulnerable Sector Check; TB test; Ontario G license preferred if applicable.

Responsibilities

Build a supportive relationship with each person, understanding preferences, histories and goals.
Assist with daily living routines while upholding dignity and independence.
Apply positive behaviour strategies as appropriate and document progress.
Support communication, coping and emotional regulation skills; observe and record data.
Help residents participate in community life, education, employment, recreation, and social activities.
