Job summary

Karis Disability Services in the St. Thomas area, Ontario, is hiring a Direct Support Professional for permanent part-time flex work. You will support people with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping with daily living and community participation.

This role requires access to reliable transportation and combines flexible schedules with on-site work. Preferences include 12 months of experience and related post-secondary education; CPI and behaviour support plan

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Requirements:

• Access to reliable transportation

Preferred:

• 12 Months Experience
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field
• Experience with working with Behaviour Support Plans and CPI techniques.
• Experience supporting people living within a Supported Independent Living model.
