Job summary

A supportive residential community in Ontario is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist clients with complex care needs, including children and adolescents with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related field and experience in trauma-informed care. Responsibilities include fostering life skills and providing personal assistance to residents. The role offers flexible shifts and training opportunities in a dynamic and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related fields.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector (within 6 months).
• Experience is encouraged but not mandatory with appropriate education.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in Life Skills Training and Personal Self-Help Training.
• Implement therapeutic programming focused on life skills and personal development.
• Provide hygiene support and daily living support for residents.

Skills

Experience working with children and/or youth with disabilities

Experience in Trauma Informed Care

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to set priorities and manage time

Experience with individualized plans

Education

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
