Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for Hillside Manor in Stratford, ON. Shift runs 12:00pm-8:00pm, with responsibilities including safe food handling, assisting cooks, serving meals per diet orders, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

Required qualifications include enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program and a current Safe Food Handling Certificate. A negative vulnerable sector check and TB test are also required.

Reports to: Food Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge And Skills Required

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional Requirements Include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
