The Dover Cliffs LTC in Port Dover, ON, is hiring a casual Dietary Aide. You will support meal setup, preparation, serving and cleaning, under the Food Service Manager. The role offers $22.81/hour with 9:00am–5:00pm or 12:00pm–8:00pm shifts.

Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a College Level Food Service Worker Program and hold a Safe Food Handling Certificate. A caring, team-oriented approach and strong communication are essential; a negative screening check is required.

Reports to: Food Service Manager

The Dietary Aide provides support to the setup, preparation, serving and cleaning associated with all meal services in the Home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional Requirements include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
• TB screening documentation as required under the Southbridge Care Homes' Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Policy
