Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide for Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home LTC in Plantagenet, ON. The role supports meal service, food preparation, and kitchen cleanliness, with shifts 6am-2pm and 11:15am-7:15pm.

You will work under the Food Service Manager to ensure safe food handling and resident-diet guidelines are followed. Enrollment in the College Level Food Service Worker Program and a Safe Food Handling Certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled or have completed a College Level Food Service Worker Program.
• Current Safe Food Handling Certificate required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for serving residents in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Support meal setup, preparation, service and cleanup.
• Ensure safe food handling and proper labeling.
• Assist cooks with basic food preparation.

Salary Range: Starting at $26.08 per hour

Position: Dietary Aide

Status: Part Time Vacancy, Mixed Shifts, 6am-2pm, 11:15am-7:15pm

Reports to:

Food Service Manager

The Dietary Aide provides support to the setup, preparation, serving and cleaning associated with all meal services in the Home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional Requirements include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.

• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
