Job summary

Momentum Developmental Support in Newfoundland and Labrador seeks casual Developmental Support Worker for evening shifts from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, with regular opportunities for extra hours. The role supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community-based setting.

You will help clients maintain safe and healthy lifestyles, promoting independence through activities in recreation, learning, physical fitness and daily living.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma; post-secondary education in a relevant field is considered an asset.
• Experience in a support role with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or mental health disorders is an asset.
• A driver's license is required as well as a medical report (immunization record and TB skin test), a Record of Conduct, and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Emergency First Aid AED/CPR Level C is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide evening support to maintain safe and healthy lifestyles for clients.
• Promote independence through recreational, learning, physical fitness and money-management activities.
• Support clients with daily living activities and ensure a positive, dignified home environment.

The primary shift requirement is 7:00pm-10:00pm, with regular opportunities to work these scheduled evening hours. ***This is a unionized position with NL Association of Publicand Private Employees. The wage rate is $19.08 per hour plus a remotework differential, specific to the Northern Peninsula, of an additional $4 per hour.
