Job summary

Momentum Developmental Support is seeking casual Developmental Support Workers for reliable evening coverage in Newfoundland and Labrador. The main shift is 7:00pm–10:00pm with ongoing opportunities to work these hours, plus occasional extended hours.

Join a team dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities through engaging activities, healthful living, and community integration.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required; post-secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.
• Experience in a support role with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health disorders is an asset.
• A driver’s license is required; medical report including immunization, TB test, and a vulnerable sector check are needed.
• Emergency First Aid AED/CPR Level C certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to maintain safe and healthy lifestyles.
• Promote independence through programming in recreational, learning, physical fitness, and money management activities.
• Work as part of the Momentum Community to provide consistent evening support.

***This is a unionized position with NL Association of Publicand Private Employees. The wage rate is $19.08 per hour plus a remotework differential, specific to the Northern Peninsula, of an additional $4 per hour.
