Job summary

Porter-Leath is seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement under the direction of the Vice President of Development. The role advances the agency’s mission through successful fundraising, event support, and representation at community events.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in Marketing or Public Relations, fundraising experience, and strong public speaking skills.

Qualifications

  • Must have an associate degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Fundraising experience is preferred.
  • Previous public-facing positions are required.
  • Strong public speaking skills are essential.
  • Grant writing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising through new partnerships and relationships, and maintain existing donors.
  • Ensure deadlines are met to support timely operations for the Development Department.
  • Engage entry-level donors to ensure stewardship and ongoing giving.
  • Collaborate with the Engagement Specialist to solicit support from volunteer groups.
  • Assist with developing the annual stewardship campaign messaging, timing, and delivery.
  • Represent Porter-Leath to public audiences through effective communication with groups, resources, staff, management, and Board members.
  • Prospect and research new donors, including in-kind opportunities such as Toy Truck partners.
  • Pursue grant applications and fulfill reporting requirements.
  • Manage recurring donor acknowledgement process including frequency and account assignment.
  • Cultivate a donor network to grow the overall funds raised toward annual goals.
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as assigned.
