Job summary

AMT Asset Management Software is seeking a Field Support Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical assistance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain client networks. The role focuses on rapid problem resolution, proactive maintenance, and effective customer communication across client sites.

The ideal candidate will install, configure, and test systems, explain technical solutions clearly, and document all activities. Travel and flexible hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• 1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in technical support, deployment, or field engineering.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN), and diagnostic tools.
• Preferred credentials include Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL Foundation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong verbal communication, and adaptability to flexible work hours or travel.

Responsibilities

• Installation & Setup: Install, configure, and test hardware, software, and network components at client sites.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex technical issues, perform hardware break/fixes, and resolve software or connectivity errors.
• Maintenance: Execute routine preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
• Client Communication: Train users on equipment operation, explain technical solutions clearly, and maintain professional client relationships.
• Documentation: Log all service activities, support tickets, asset records, and incident reports accurately in company databases.
