Job summary

OMERS seeks an Analyst in Derivative Operations within the Investment Operations team in Toronto, focusing on middle-office workflows for OTC and listed derivatives and lifecycle events from onboarding to settlements.

Qualifications

  • University degree in finance or related discipline.
  • Professional designation CFA/CGA/CMA is a plus or in progress.
  • Experience with derivatives instruments and hedge funds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Booking of derivative investments to ensure settlements, entitlements, reporting and GL accuracy.
  • Confirmations and settlements with traders and brokers; resolve discrepancies.
  • Review daily verifications between records and trading system; resolve issues promptly.
  • Oversee market openings and onboarding requirements; manage ongoing maintenance for invested products.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements per ISDA/CSA; manage margin movements and settlements.
  • Prepare management reports on assets, cash flows and costs; explain outliers.
  • Develop and document processes/controls; automate where possible.
  • Maintain knowledge of OMERS policies on delegations, valuations and third-party agreements.
