Save-On-Foods is hiring a Department Manager, Produce for the Sparwood, BC location. This full-time role requires open availability and involves leading the department to deliver top customer service and operational excellence.

You will manage staffing, training, merchandising, and KPI reporting while ensuring health and safety and adherence to company standards. Strong leadership and retail experience are essential for success.

Formación

• 1–3 years of retail experience.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Post-secondary education in business is an asset.
• Experience with achieving sales targets and profitability.
• Experience with merchandising plans and in-store displays.
• Knowledge of scheduling and HR-related tasks.
• Proficiency with computer applications.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the department as coach, mentor, and resource, focusing on customer first service.
• Ensure operational excellence via customer experience, health/safety, and merchandising.
• Train and retain team members with performance management and recognition.
• Communicate objectives to department and align with company goals.
• Review income statements and identify opportunities to improve department performance.
• Present KPIs and analyze department financial reports.
• Lead inventory counts and resolve issues.
• Perform duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in hot/cold environments.

We are hiring for a Department Manager, Produce at our Save-On-Foods location in Sparwood, BC.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Ensuring the department executes and achieves operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Supporting the management team in reviewing and analyzing income statements and identifying opportunities to improve performance within the department.
• Reviewing and interpreting department financial reports and presenting KPIs to the management team.
• Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
• Assisting the management team with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.
• Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.
• Experience and/or knowledge with:
  • Achieving sales targets and profitability.
  • Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
  • Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).
  • Employee Relations and knowledge of the collective agreement (if applicable).
  • Scheduling.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
