We are hiring for a Department Manager, Grocery at our North Lethbridge Save-On-Foods location in Lethbridge, AB.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
- Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
- Engaging andretainingteam members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
- Communicating key messages and businessobjectivesto team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Reviewing and analyzing financial reports,identifyingopportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.
- Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
- Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
- Leading inventory counts/periodend of the department and resolving issues asrequired.
- Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50lbs), standing forlong periodsof time, and working in hot/cold environments.
You have:
- 1-3 years of retail experience.
- Leadership experience is an asset.
- Food Safe Certification.
- A post-secondary education in abusiness relatedfield is an asset.
- Experience and/or knowledge with:
- Achieving sales targets and profitability.
- Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
- Human Resources (e.g.training, development,coachingand mentoring).
- Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
- Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Proficiencywith computer applications.
