Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Winfield, BC is hiring a Department Manager, Deli to lead the deli team and deliver Always Customer First service. This is a full-time, 40‑hour per week role with open availability.

You will manage operations, safety, merchandising, and KPIs, coach staff, and drive sales. Retail experience and Food Safe Certification are assets.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the deli department and coach team members.

We are hiring a Department Manager, Deli at our Save-On-Foods location in Winfield, BC.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engaging andretainingteam members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicating key messages and businessobjectivesto team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Reviewing and analyzing financial reports,identifyingopportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.
• Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
• Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Leading inventory counts/periodend of the department and resolving issues asrequired.
• Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50lbs), standing forlong periodsof time, and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in abusiness relatedfield is an asset.
• Experience and/or knowledge with:
  • Achieving sales targets and profitability.
  • Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
  • Human Resources (e.g.training, development,coachingand mentoring).
  • Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
  • Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Proficiencywith computer applications.
