Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Burnaby, BC is hiring an Assistant Department Manager, Deli. You will lead a team, coach and mentor colleagues, and foster a positive environment that keeps Always Customer First service at the center of every shift.

You must have open availability for 40 hours per week, Food Safe Certification, and prior retail or customer service experience. Compensation is $19.25–$22.60 per hour, with benefits and pension eligibility, and opportunities to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is required.
• Food Safe Certification is preferred or required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading a team, acting as coach and resource to team members.
• Foster a positive environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Engage and retain team through training, performance management, and recognition.
• Communicate important messages with the team.
• Develop entrepreneurial strategies using knowledge of the community and industry.

We are hiring for an Assistant Department Manager, Deli at our Cameron Save-On-Foods location in Burnaby, BC.

The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting with leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.

• Fostering a positive environment that is focused on Always Customer First service.

• Engaging and retaining team members through training and development, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders.

• Communicating important messages with the team.

• Using knowledge of the community, competitive environment, and industry to develop entrepreneurial strategies to grow the business.

• Taking count of the correct amount of stock.

You have:

• Previous retail or customer service experience (considered an asset).

• Food Safe Certification.

• A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.

• A strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.

Compensation Details:
