Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Surrey, BC is hiring a Department Manager for the Centre of Store at the South Point location. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week and requires open availability to lead a dynamic team focused on customer first service.

You will drive operational excellence, manage performance, review KPIs, and mentor team members while ensuring health & safety, merchandising, and strong customer experiences across the department.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department, coaching and mentoring the team to deliver Always Customer First service.
• Deliver operational excellence in customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engage and retain team members through training, performance management, rewards, recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicate key messages and business objectives to team members in the department.
• Review and analyze financial reports, identify opportunities to improve performance, and present KPIs to management.
• Analyze business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
• Support with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Lead inventory counts/period end of the department and resolve issues as required.
• Perform all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods, and working in hot/cold environments.
