Job summary

Scotia Dental in Halifax is seeking a Dental Administrative professional to warmly welcome patients, manage schedules, and handle billing and insurance claims. The role requires at least 1 year of dental administration experience and familiarity with dental software programs.

The position is full-time for one year, based in downtown Halifax. A clinical background is an asset, and candidates must be legally permitted to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, creating a warm and positive first impression
  • Optimize the daily appointment schedule to ensure full utilization with minimal gaps
  • Effectively manage the recall system and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records
  • Handle incoming patient calls and inquiries, including appointment scheduling, confirmations, changes, and cancellations
  • Process referral letters and other patient correspondence from providers; organize, manage, and file all patient records and charts
  • Proactively manage potential cancellations and address objections to encourage patients to keep their appointments
  • Complete patient billing following treatment, process payments, submit insurance claims, and respond to fee inquiries in a professional and positive manner

Schedule:
  • Monday & Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Full time hours - 40 hours per week
  • This is a one (1) year contract

Your Role:
