Job summary

Dentalcorp in Ottawa is seeking a Dental Administrator to welcome patients, optimize scheduling, and maintain accurate records in a full-time capacity. You will help streamline daily operations and support high-quality patient care.

The role requires at least 1 year of dental administration experience and familiarity with dental software. A clinical background is considered an asset, with competitive hourly pay and growth opportunities within a fast-growing network.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, creating a warm and positive first impression.
  • Optimize the daily appointment schedule to ensure full utilization with minimal gaps.
  • Effectively manage the recall system and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records.
  • Handle incoming patient calls and inquiries, including appointment scheduling, confirmations, changes, and cancellations.
  • Process referral letters and other patient correspondence from providers; organize, manage, and file all patient records and charts.
  • Proactively manage potential cancellations and address objections to encourage patients to keep their appointments.

Schedule:

Full time

Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Tuesday alternating between 8:00am to 4:00pm and 10:00am to 6:00pm

The wage for this Dental Administrator position is $28-$32 /hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:
  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, creating a warm and positive first impression
  • Optimize the daily appointment schedule to ensure full utilization with minimal gaps
  • Effectively manage the recall system and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records
  • Handle incoming patient calls and inquiries, including appointment scheduling, confirmations, changes, and cancellations
  • Process referral letters and other patient correspondence from providers; organize, manage, and file all patient records and charts
  • Proactively manage potential cancellations and address objections to encourage patients to keep their appointments
  • Complete patient billing following treatment, process payments, submit insurance claims, and respond to fee inquiries in a professional and positive manner
About You:
  • Minimum 1 year of Dental Administration experience is required
  • Experience with dental software programs is required
  • Clinical background is considered an asset
