Job summary

Alderney Dental in Dartmouth is seeking a dedicated dental administrator to join our busy family-oriented practice. The role focuses on welcoming patients, managing appointments, and handling billing and insurance claims with a patient-centered approach.

We offer a stable full-time schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in dental administration and experience with Abledent software; clinical background is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of dental administration experience is required.
  • Experience with Abledent dental software programs is required.
  • Clinical background is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, creating a warm and positive first impression
  • Optimize the daily appointment schedule to ensure full utilization with minimal gaps
  • Effectively manage the recall system and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records
  • Handle incoming patient calls and inquiries, including appointment scheduling, confirmations, changes, and cancellations
  • Process referral letters and other patient correspondence from providers; organize, manage, and file all patient records and charts
  • Proactively manage potential cancellations and address objections to encourage patients to keep their appointments
  • Complete patient billing following treatment, process payments, submit insurance claims, and respond to fee inquiries in a professional and positive manner

Our modern dental office combines the historic charm of our building with advanced dental technology, such as intraoral cameras, panoramic and digital x-rays. We are a busy and established family-oriented practice located in the heart of Downtown Dartmouth, conveniently on a major bus route and across the street from the ferry terminal, making us easy to locate and close to many great restaurants and parks.

Schedule: Full time Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM No evenings or weekends

Your Role:

About You:
