Job summary

Upper Ottawa Dental in Hamilton is seeking a Dental Administrator to welcome patients, manage schedules, and handle billing and records. You will optimize appointment flow, maintain patient data, and respond to calls and referrals with professionalism.

Minimum 1 year of dental administration experience and proficiency with dental software are required; clinical experience is a plus. This is a replacement, on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Experience with dental software programs is required.
  • Clinical background is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, creating a warm and positive first impression
  • Optimize the daily appointment schedule to ensure full utilization with minimal gaps
  • Effectively manage the recall system and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records
  • Handle incoming patient calls and inquiries, including appointment scheduling, confirmations, changes, and cancellations
  • Process referral letters and other patient correspondence from providers; organize, manage, and file all patient records and charts
  • Proactively manage potential cancellations and address objections to encourage patients to keep their appointments
  • Complete patient billing following treatment, process payments, submit insurance claims, and respond to fee inquiries in a professional and positive manner

Schedule:
  • Monday - Thursday: 7:45 am - 5:15 pm, some Fridays: hours depend on clinic needs

The wage for this Dental Administrator position is $24.00 - $26.00/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.
