Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Project Manager - Infrastructure Level 1 to lead cross-functional teams and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of low to medium risk infrastructure projects with quality outcomes.

Based in Burnaby, you will plan, report, and manage risks, with projects up to $20 million in capital cost, while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years (prefer 5+) of project/program management experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing deliverables, timelines, and risks.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Experience with large datasets and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and report on infrastructure and construction project activities by monitoring benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews.
• Develop project plans and risk management plans for low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects with a capital cost up to $20 million.
• Manage multiple activities such as quality assurance, engineering, stakeholder engagement, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, and safety.
• Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks using intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and project management programs.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders including customers, engineers and field crews through regular communication with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

General Description

The Project Manager - Infrastructure Level 1 is responsible for the successful completion of low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects by leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams through project activities so that projects are successfully completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

Responsibilities

• A minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent.
• Plan, direct, and report on infrastructure and other construction project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
• Develop project plans and risk management plans for low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects with a capital cost that is generally up to $20 million for effective management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage multiple activities effectively such as quality assurance, engineering, First Nations and stakeholder engagement, communication, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety by using project management principles in monitoring progress and establishing standards for implementation to keep the project within allotted time and budget.
• Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using intermediate skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill business needs.
• Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders including customers, engineers and field crews through regular communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.

Qualifications

Must haves:

• Minimum 3 years (preferred 5+ years) of Project/Program Management experience. - if the candidate has lesser than 5 years of experience, the rate should be reflective of that.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing project deliverables, timelines, and risks.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Experience with large datasets and data analysis.

Nice to Haves:

• Infrastructure or utility industry experience.
• Contract management experience.
