Job summary

Randstad Canada is hiring a Project Manager to lead facilities integrity projects within Canada’s pipeline systems. The role requires coordinating with Operations and Engineering to plan, organize, and execute regulated programs, including travel to different locations for temporary assignments.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of PM experience, familiar with PM principles, and proven change leadership abilities. Some travel (~25%) is expected for the role.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of related project management experience.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to embrace and lead change and quickly understand new processes and related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects for process safety critical equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance projects to ensure regulatory and corporate requirements are met.
  • Work with Project Controls to establish baseline execution schedule and spend forecast early in the project lifecycle.
  • Direct and manage the work of external consultants and contractors.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align expectations and contributions for program success.
  • Optimize field resources to support field implementation.
  • Identify data integrity improvements and cost savings through analysis of programs.
  • Support development and implementation of project management tools, standards and processes for regulated programs in Canada.

The opportunity
As a Project Manager you will be a key contributor to the management of facilities regulated programs to achieve reliable operation and continuous improvement of all assets located within the Company’s Canadian pipeline systems.

The Project Manager is an individual contributor who will work closely with other groups, including Operations and Engineering, to plan, organize and execute the facilities regulated programs. In this role, we will rely on you to provide strong technical, project management, organizational, and communication skills and to develop the knowledge of our systems, processes and tools required to plan and execute the program.

Please Note: These positions will require travel to various company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.

What you’ll do
Supervise and manage General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects for process safety critical equipment.

Work with support teams and Project Controls to establish baseline execution schedule and spend forecast early in the project lifecycle

Effectively collaborate with the internal stakeholders’ and understand their expectations and expert contributions and how they can contribute to the program or project success

Optimize and align field resources to support field implementation

Identify data integrity improvements and cost savings through analysis of the programs

Support the development and implementation of the Company’s project management tools, standards and processes to support the implementation of regulated programs within Canada.

Minimum qualifications
3 years of related project management experience

Familiarity with project management principles and practices

Proven ability to embrace and lead change and quickly understand new processes and related issues

Preferred qualifications
University Degree, technical diploma or equivalent formal project manager training

Ability to influence and exercise leadership without formal authority

Leadership skills in delegation, negotiation, communication and consensus building to coordinate work to meet objectives

This position requires candidates to:
Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract for review

Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (~25%)
