Job summary

This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. October 1, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a casual Custodian on an on-call basis. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable school environment that supports student learning and staff well-being.

In this role, you will be responsible for routine cleaning and sanitizing duties throughout the school, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with established health, safety, and sanitation standards. The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative is important to success in this position.

This position involves physical activity, including standing and walking for extended periods, as well as bending, lifting, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks. Experience in custodial or general cleaning work is considered an asset, along with familiarity with cleaning products, tools, and standard procedures.

Casual Custodians are called in as needed to provide coverage, which may include daytime, evening, or split shifts depending on operational requirements. Training will be provided on the safe use of equipment, cleaning procedures, and handling of cleaning chemicals. All required safety equipment and personal protective equipment will be supplied.
