Job summary

School District No. 22 (Vernon) is seeking casual custodians to join our facilities team.

You will clean district facilities using a variety of equipment and cleaning products, replenish consumables, and perform minor maintenance as needed to keep schools in top condition. Responsibilities include ensuring Occupational Health & Safety and WHMIS compliance, maintaining building security and responding to inquiries from students and staff.

• Knowledge of commercial building cleaning methods.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Physically capable of performing all duties.

• Responsible for building security including checking and securing buildings and setting alarms, monitoring activities in the building, set up for functions, respond to requests to access rooms and monitor building systems and safety equipment.
• Communicate with students, staff and others and respond to inquiries and provide general information.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Grade 10

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

• Must be physically able to do all aspects of the job.

WAGE: $26.60 (Pay Grade 4) This position is unionized, CUPE local 5523.

SHIFT: Casual On-call
