Job summary

University of Ottawa is seeking six Corrector (CUPE) tutors for CHM2330: Physical Chemistry. The work is on the Main Campus, in person, from January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027, totaling 80 hours. Undergraduate students are paid at the lower rate and graduates at the higher rate.

Rates are CAD 33.83 or CAD 53.31 per hour (Sept. 2026 – Aug. 2027); vacation pay and statutory pay are not included. Training in WHMIS and OH&S is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 full year of general chemistry and a B.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Those not chemistry graduates will be required to write a qualifying test.
• Successful completion of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.

Responsibilities

• Marking assignments, mid-terms, and final exams.
• Prepare materials and coordinate with students as needed.
• Comply with WHMIS and OH&S requirements.

Candidate must have 1 full year of general chemistry, B.Sc. In Chemistry or its equivalent. All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify. (Unless already previously done.) Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
