Job summary

The University of Ottawa, Main Campus, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for CHM2311, Introduction to Structure and Bonding, during the 2027 Winter Semester.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering tutorials, marking midterms and final exams, proctoring exams, and assisting with student contact. Work is in person; start January 1, 2027 and end April 30, 2027; hourly rates apply.

AE-RA-Tuteur / TA-RA-Tutor : $33.83 ou/or $53.31 (Sept. 2026 - Aug. 2027) Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

Requirements and Nature of Work

• Nature of Work: Giving tutorials and preparing them. Marking midterms, and final exam. Proctor a final exam, and midterms.


• Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have 1 full year of general chemistry, 1 full year of organic chemistry and CHM 2311or their equivalents.


• All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify. (Unless already previously done.)


• Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
