Job summary

Listuguj Education Directorate seeks an energetic Alternative Pathways to Learning Teacher (LAPL) for Listuguj High School. This one-year fixed-term contract, reporting to the Listuguj Enhancement Manager, focuses on culturally and academically responsive instruction within the Listuguj Education Directorate building.

Responsibilities include implementing Tier 1 PSIS, tracking attendance, providing Tier 2 supports, and collaborating with First Nation partners to deliver culturally relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant teaching experience.
• Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
• Knowledge of First Nation culture and community.
• Understanding of High School subject areas.
• Priority given to Listuguj First Nation applicants per LMG policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students in the Listuguj Personal Learning Environment.
• Focus on students' social-emotional needs, attendance, and daily engagement.
• Implement Tier 1 PSIS practices aligned with school-wide expectations.
• Monitor attendance and conduct bi-weekly check-ins to track progress.
• Collaborate with school partners to coordinate supports.
• Provide Tier 2 small group or individualized learning support.
• Coordinate with Virtual teachers and ESST staff for appropriate supports.
• Participate in ESST meetings to address student needs.
• Develop partnerships with local training and community organizations for real-world learning.
• Ensure content is culturally relevant and age-appropriate.
