Job summary

Northern Lights School Division in La Loche, SK, is seeking a full-time Dene Language and Culture Teaching/Consultant to support land-based education and language revitalization. Qualifications:

The successful candidate will:

• Support school and community by sharing, supporting, and promoting land-based knowledge.
• Work with the principal, teachers, parents, Elders, and community members as a team in implementing and coordinating all aspects of language and land-based education.
• Assist in developing a positive, caring, and supportive culture and climate which closely aligns to the teachings of our Elders and implement the TRC's Calls to Action by prioritizing and revitalizing Indigenous languages and culture.
• Identify and establish partnerships with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community agencies to develop and coordinate opportunities for staff and students to partake in Land Language and Cultural activities.
