  • Support school and community by sharing, supporting, and promoting land-based knowledge.
  • Work with the principal, teachers, parents, Elders, and community members to implement and coordinate language and land-based education.
  • Assist in developing a positive culture aligned with Elders' teachings and TRC Calls to Action.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with Elders and community agencies for Lands Language and Cultural activities.

Salary and Benefits: $27.80 - $32.52 per hour - According to education and experience.

Qualifications:
  • Strong oral and written communication and organization skills.
  • Speaking Cree, Dene or Michif would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work with all school staff, children, youth, caregivers, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members in a positive manner.
  • Experience in working with First Nations schools and communities.
  • First-hand experience facilitating land-based learning.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
The successful candidate will:
  • Support school and community by sharing, supporting, and promoting land-based knowledge.
  • Work with the principal, teachers, parents, Elders, and community members as a team in implementing and coordinating all aspects of language and land-based education.
  • Assist in developing a positive, caring, and supportive culture and climate which closely aligns to the teachings of our Elders and implement the TRC's Calls to Action by prioritizing and revitalizing Indigenous languages and culture.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community agencies to develop and coordinate opportunities for staff and students to partake in Land Language and Cultural activities.
