Job summary

Peepeekisis Pesakastew School seeks a Cultural Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and deliver culturally grounded programming that strengthens student identity and well-being. You will work with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, staff and community members to integrate Cree language, history, teachings and traditional practices in the curriculum.

The role focuses on land-based learning, ceremonies, language revitalization, and community engagement, while fostering a safe, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 required.
• Experience with budgeting.
• Proficient with computer application software.
• Must have a current CPIC and Vulnerable sector Check.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills; high energy and positive attitude.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate culturally grounded programming.
• Deliver programming to strengthen identity, well-being, and educational success.
• Integrate Cree language, history, teachings and traditional practices into school environment and curriculum.
• Create opportunities for students to connect with their culture through land-based learning, ceremonies, ceremonies, language revitalization, and community engagement.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, staff and community members.
