Job summary

Peepeekisis Pesakastew School seeks a Cultural Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and deliver culturally grounded programming that strengthens student identity and well-being. You will work with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, staff and community members to integrate Cree language, history, teachings and traditional practices in the curriculum.

The role focuses on land-based learning, ceremonies, language revitalization, and community engagement, while fostering a safe, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 required.
• Experience with budgeting.
• Proficient with computer application software.
• Must have a current CPIC and Vulnerable sector Check.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills; high energy and positive attitude.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.

The Cultural Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering culturally grounded programming that strengthens the identity, well-being, and educational success of students attending Peepeekisis Pesakastew School. Working closely with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, staff, and community members, the Cultural Coordinator ensures that Cree language, history, teachings, values, and traditional practices are integrated throughout the school environment and curriculum. The Cultural Coordinator will create meaningful opportunities for students to connect with their culture through land-based learning, ceremonies, traditional arts, language revitalization, and community engagement while promoting a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.

• Minimum Grade 12 and experience
• Must have experience with budgeting
• Proficient with computer application software
• Must have a current CPIC and Vulnerable sector Check
• Must have strong interpersonal; organizational; problem-solving; and great communication skills, high energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude. Strong analytical and evaluative skills. Experience with volunteers. Valid class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract
• Be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
