Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food in a high-volume kitchen at our Maple Ridge operation. Responsibilities include mise en place, safe handling, and rotating stock, with strict adherence to quality standards.

The role requires proven cooking experience, a Food Safety Certification, and a recognized cooking school certificate. Excellent communication and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Excellent understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform duties as described.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage items.
• Communicate effectively with other departments.
• Report maintenance or accidents to supervisor promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
