Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking an experienced cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food in line with corporate standards and procedures. The role will involve mise en place, labeling, storage, and ensuring quality service across high-volume operations.

The ideal candidate will have proven cooking experience, a food safety certification, and a certificate from a recognized cooking school, along with strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience (restaurant or prep cook).
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food as directed.
• Prepare mise en place and other products for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverages properly.
• Communicate effectively with operations departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
