Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food to corporate standards in a high-volume setting. You will handle mise en place, label and store products, and maintain cleanliness according to safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds Food Safety Certification and a certificate from a recognized cooking school, with proven cooking experience and strong communication within a team or independently.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Excellent understanding of cooking methods, ingredients and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Food Safety Certification required and a certificate from a recognized cooking school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and cook food as directed.
• Set up mise en place and prepare other products for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment following health and safety rules.
• Label, date, store and rotate food in proper storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with operational departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
