Job summary

enCompass Community Safety Agency is seeking a Case Worker for the Domestic Violence Complainant Assistant Program to support clients involved in judicial processes from the Edmonton Law Courts Building. You will manage caseloads and ensure DVJR protocols are followed while providing client-centered services.

Qualifications

• Diploma in related human services field
• Experience working with victims of family violence
• Understanding of victimization and dynamics of domestic violence
• Assessment, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of community resources and access to resources
• Knowledge and experience in the Criminal Justice System
• Confidentiality guidelines

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients over the phone and/or in person at the Law Courts Building
• Develop and monitor safety planning while assessing risk
• Provide education about impact of family violence on individuals and children
• Provide referrals to other resources as appropriate
• Support clients throughout the criminal justice process and court proceedings
• Develop and maintain relationships with DVJR partners
• Act as client’s voice in court conferencing and provide information to partners
• Liaise with Crown Prosecutor’s office
