Job summary

Purolator in Richmond is seeking a dedicated Courier to pick up and deliver packages on a Monday–Friday schedule, working 40 hours per week. Location is the Richmond Depot (Richmond, BC). The position involves on-road work, outdoor environments, and warehouse duties with daily scanning and reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school completion required.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with three years driving experience and clean driving record.
• Experience with shipping and courier operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules.
• Scan packages as received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day.
• Resolve problems on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and E-DVIR.
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager.

Location: Richmond Depot (3700 Jericho Road, Richmond)

Shift: Monday to Friday

Hours: 40 Hours per week. Flexiblity required

Pay-rate: $22.12 per hour, as per collective agreement (regular increases, as per collective agreement: $25.07 after 4 months, with a top rate of $37.38 per hour after 4 years)

Driver's License Requirement: Valid Class 5 license with three years of driving experience and no more than 4 demerits.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager

• Completion of vocational and business courses commonly taught at high school level
• Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
