Job summary

Purolator in Sudbury, ON is seeking a Utility Courier to join our on-the-road team. You will pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily schedules and resolve issues along the way. A High School diploma and a Class 5 driver’s license are required; training is provided.

This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, at $22.18 per hour, with the next wage increase after three months per the CBA, and a collaborative warehouse and field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in shipping and receiving operations preferred.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily schedules.
• Scan packages and mail as received, delivered, or returned to the depot.
• Resolve issues on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using E-DVIR.

Schedule Varies

40 hours per week

$22.18 per hour (Next increase at 3 months as per CBA)

The Utility Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. Job covers other absent couriers that may be on any work shift.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager

Education

Completion of High School

Experience

• Completion of vocational and business courses commonly taught at high school level
• Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
