Job summary

Purolator in Burnaby seeks a Utility Courier to pick up and deliver customer packages on a daily schedule, ensuring timely routing and accurate handoffs.

You will scan packages, resolve on-road issues with Dispatch, and perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and E-DVIR. A valid Class 5 license and clean driving record are required. The role includes on-road work, warehouse environment, 40h/week shifts, and wage progression.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School.
• Vocational or business courses commonly taught at high school level.
• Experience with shipping and courier operations.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules.
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day.
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR).
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager.

• Location: 2245 Douglas Rd, Burnaby, BC V5C 5A9
• Shift: 40h/week, flexibility need
• Pay-rate: $22.12 per hour (25.07 after 3 months, with annual wage increases, top rate at $37.38 per hour in 48 months)
• Valid Class 5 license for at least 3 years, clean driver abstract

The Utility Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. Job covers other absent couriers that may be on any work shift.
