Job summary

Purolator is seeking a Utility Courier in Richmond, BC to support daily pickup and delivery schedules. The role requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record, with English proficiency for ongoing communications with stakeholders.

The position offers a 40-hour week with shift Monday to Friday, and pay starting at $22.12 per hour under the collective agreement. After four months, pay rises to $25.07, with a top rate of $37.38 after four years.

Qualifications

• High school completion is required.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with 3 years of driving experience.
• Clean driver’s abstract with no more than 4 demerits.
• Experience with package scanning and daily delivery operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager

Shift:Monday to Friday

Pay-rate: $22.12 per hour, as per collective agreement (regular increases, as per collective agreement: $25.07 after 4 months, with a top rate of $37.38 per hour after 4 years)

Driver's License Requirement: Valid Class 5 license with three years of driving experience and no more than 4 demerits.

The Utility Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. Job covers other absent couriers that may be on any work shift.
