Job description

HR Operations Coordinator

Montreal, QC | Toronto, ON | Calgary, AB Salary : $45,000 - $55,000 / yr

CMLS Financial islooking for a detail-oriented, bilingual coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. You’ll be the first point of contact for HR requests via our shared Front inbox, support key moments in the employee journey, and play a pivotal role in our HRIS consolidation.

This role is perfect for someone eager to learn the inner workings of HR systems and payroll, while also thinking creatively about how AI and automation can reduce repetitive work.

Some of the duties and responsibilities you’ll have will include :

  • Act as the first line of support for employee HR requests in Front, our email and ticketing system
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes (Data entry, workflow tracking)
  • Collaborate closely with our Payroll Manager to help ensure accurate and timely pay cycles
  • Help in the migration and upkeep of our HRIS systems to Rippling.
  • Contribute to core HR programs like performance management, compliance, and employee recognition.
  • Identify and explore opportunities to improve workflows and automate manual tasks using tools like Rippling, Slack, Google Workspace.
  • Be a go-to resource for day-to-day HR needs across the company.

This role is for you if you :

  • Are bilingual (French & English) and comfortable communicating with employees at all levels.
  • Are curious and eager to grow your career in HR, tech, or operations.
  • Are highly attentive to detail and take pride in getting things right.
  • Have 1+ year of experience in any employee-facing or service-oriented role (HR, support, sales, coordination).
  • Are adaptable and comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
  • Have strong organizational skills and like digging into details.
  • Enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and learning new tools.
  • Are comfortable using Front, Rippling, Slack, Google Workspace and Gemini (or excited to learn them!).

Nice to haves :

  • Experience working with an HR or payroll system (UKG, Rippling, BambooHR, etc.).
  • Familiarity with employment standards across multiple Canadian provinces.
  • Studies or coursework in Human Resources.
