Prima Living is seeking a Cook to join Amenida Senior Community in Morrisburg, Ontario. This part-time, onsite role involves preparing home-cooked meals for residents, planning menus, and assisting the Food Service Manager to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

You should have experience in a busy kitchen, the ability to produce large-batch meals with attention to taste and dietary requirements, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a busy kitchen, preferably in senior care or institutional settings.
• Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation and dietary requirements.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must pass a criminal background check including Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve home-cooked meals for a large group of residents.
• Plan and prep meals for the current and following day.
• Assist the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation per health regulations.
• Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
• Follow safety and food handling protocols at all times.

Job Status: Part-time Openings, Onsite

Hours: 32 hrs biweekly (10:30 Am to 6:30 PM)

Location: : 3 Fifth Street West, Morrisburg, ON, K0C 1X0

Pay: $18.16

Your Day to Day:

As a Cook at Amenida Senior Community, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving home-cooked meals using fresh, real ingredients for a large group of residents.
• Planning and prepping meals for the current and following day.
• Assisting the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed.
• Ensuring proper food presentation and portion control.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food preparation areas in accordance with health regulations.
• Supporting kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas according to established standards.
• Adhering to safety and food handling protocols at all times.
• Focusing on preparing authentic Korean cuisine to meet the cultural and dietary preferences of residents.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Proven experience cooking in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a senior care or institutional setting.
• Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation, and dietary requirements.
• Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks related to food service.
• Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
