Job summary

Amenida Senior Community in Brockville, ON is seeking a Cook to join our onsite kitchen team. You will prepare and serve home-style meals for residents, plan daily menus, and assist the Food Service Manager in day-to-day operations. A focus on authentic Korean cuisine and dietary requirements is valued.

We welcome candidates with experience in busy kitchens, the ability to work weekends and holidays, and a commitment to safety and quality. This is a part-time, casual position with onsite hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve home-cooked meals for residents.

• Uphold health regulations and sanitation throughout kitchen areas.
• Support physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods.
• Prepare authentic Korean cuisine to meet cultural preferences.

Pay: $18.22

Your Day to Day:
As a Cook at Amenida Senior Community, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving home-cooked meals using fresh, real ingredients for a large group of residents.
• Planning and prepping meals for the current and following day.
• Assisting the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed.
• Ensuring proper food presentation and portion control.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food preparation areas in accordance with health regulations.
• Supporting kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas according to established standards.
• Adhering to safety and food handling protocols at all times.
• Focusing on preparing authentic Korean cuisine to meet the cultural and dietary preferences of residents.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Proven experience cooking in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a senior care or institutional setting.
• Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation, and dietary requirements.
• Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks related to food service.
• Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
