Job summary

Axiom Builders is hiring a Construction Safety Officer for multi-family residential projects, focusing on on-site safety and compliance in Vancouver and Coquitlam, BC. You will coach crews, conduct safety orientations, and coordinate training to prevent incidents.

Requirements include 2+ years in construction safety, OFA Level 3 First Aid, and a CSO or equivalent credential. Hammertech experience is a plus; wage is hourly with a bonus program.

Qualifications

We're looking for Construction Safety Officers who pair deep knowledge of Provincial OH&S legislation with the influence and coaching skills to change habits, not just enforce rules. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enhance safety by tracking issues, maintaining records of incidents, and suggesting improvements;
• Document and track issues and potential risks in our safety management software (Hammertech);
• Conduct orientations, training, and safety coordination for workers and subcontractors;
• Perform safety inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on tool and equipment usage;
• Lead emergency response, manage First Aid resources, investigate incidents, and collaborate on safety record management.

Skills & Experience

• 2 or more (2+) years related experience in a safety position acquired in a construction setting;
• Advanced First Aid (OFA Level 3) is a must;
• Experience in residential construction within a General Contractor;
• CSO designation and/or National Construction Safety Officer or similar accreditation through a recognized training authority;
• Additional training in safety an asset including but not limited to, WHMIS, CSTS, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform etc.;
