About Our Client
A very reputable and established General Contractor specializing in small mid and large scale (ICI) Institutional, Commercial and Industrial construction projects across Ontario for the past 20+ years.
Job Description
Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates.
Track and monitor project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and change orders related to construction projects.
Analyze project financial data and provide regular reports to project managers and senior management.
Perform job cost accounting and allocate expenses appropriately to projects.
Assist in preparing financial statements, progress billings, and contract reconciliation.
Monitor contract compliance and identify potential financial risks or discrepancies.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure accurate financial tracking.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to construction projects.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and financial reviews.
Assist in forecasting cash flow needs for ongoing and future projects.- Other responsibilities, as required

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven experience as a project accountant, preferably in construction or related industries.
Strong knowledge of job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Procore, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of construction contracts, billing procedures, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
