About Our Client

A very reputable and established General Contractor specializing in small mid and large scale (ICI) Institutional, Commercial and Industrial construction projects across Ontario for the past 20+ years.

Job Description



  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates.


  • Track and monitor project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.


  • Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and change orders related to construction projects.


  • Analyze project financial data and provide regular reports to project managers and senior management.


  • Perform job cost accounting and allocate expenses appropriately to projects.


  • Assist in preparing financial statements, progress billings, and contract reconciliation.


  • Monitor contract compliance and identify potential financial risks or discrepancies.


  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure accurate financial tracking.


  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to construction projects.


  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.


  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and financial reviews.


  • Assist in forecasting cash flow needs for ongoing and future projects.
  • Other responsibilities, as required

The Successful Applicant



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.


  • Proven experience as a project accountant, preferably in construction or related industries.


  • Strong knowledge of job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.


  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Procore, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.


  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.


  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.


  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.


  • Knowledge of construction contracts, billing procedures, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
